Qi Gong

What is Qi Gong?

Qigong (also spelled Ch'i Kung) is a powerful system of healing and energy medicine from China. It is the art and science of using breathing techniques, gentle movement, and meditation to cleanse, strengthen, and circulate the life energy (qi). Qigong practice leads to better health and vitality and a tranquil state of mind. In the past, qigong was also called nei gong (inner work) and dao yin (guiding energy.”

What is Qi?

Meridians are the pathways of qi (chi) and blood flow through the body. Qi flows continuously from one meridian to another. Any break in the flow is an indication of imbalance. If a person's vitality or energy is recognizably diminished it is an indication that the body's organs or tissues are functioning poorly, therefore the qi flow is inadequate.

What is the Meridian Healing System?

The meridian healing system (originating in Chinese Medicine) is based on the concept that an insufficient supply of qi makes a person vulnerable to disease. Restoring the qi is the ultimate goal in restoring overall health and well being to the individual. Practitioners (acupuncturists, Chinese herbalists, massage therapists, etc.) assist clients in repairing dtysfunctioning areas within their meridian systems to restore a natural balance by utilizing various healing methods.

How does this relate to Chiropractic?

The two meridian lines that run down the spine are considered the area of most importance in the body. They are the Governing Vessel and the Bladder Meridian. There are also more than 300 acupuncture points on the spinal area, these include meridian points, Hua Tuo Jiaji and new found points. Acupuncture, Yoga, and Taoism say that the main energy flow in the body is in the center of the body or median line.

In the view of western medicine nerves start in the brain and go down the spinal cord. The brain and spinal nerves regulate the whole body. As we see, both western and oriental medicine agree in the importance of the spinal area. The energy flow of the body, blood circulation, and body fluid flow have to be in constant unobstructed motion. Many diseases and pains occur when there is a blockage of a flow. The main purpose of Chiropractic, Yoga, and Qi Gong is to remove blockages and restore optimum flow.

Dr. Zen is certified and taught the practice of Spring Forest Qi Gong. Every person that comes in for a Chiropractic Adjustment are also taught how to restore their health back at home.

Testimonial

“Dr. Zen’s passion for healing is wonderful. It made me feel that I wanted to be healed. Without Dr. Zen’s help, I didn’t think the performance for opera wouldn’t have been a great success. It feels like I finally found a doctor that can help my neck. Even if it takes a long time I would like his help to heal my neck.”
